Salon Sofa
The SALON sofa and armchair are an expression of this late softness.
The sweeping backrest and armrests generously envelop a slightly cambered seat. Towards the point where the pieces meet the ground, SALON’s stable, angular feet again show an increased tendency towards the cubic forms so often employed by Hoffmann. Wittmann ensures contemporary comfort with a multi-layered upholstered structure, comprising elastic webbing, the high-quality Wittmann spring core and a stable polymousse layer. As with all Hoffmann models, the classic lines found in the SALON series call for especially exacting execution of the individual design details, such as the precision stitching and immaculate piping, all implemented by Wittmann with characteristically masterful handcraftsmanship. As before, and certainly in the spirit of Hoffmann, SALON’s character best expresses itself in pared down architectural settings that give the models precisely the kind of stage they merit.
Wittmann
Wittmann creates treasured pieces: They are the product of an uncompromising approach to craft and design – two elements that have been uniquely cultivated by Wittmann right from the very start. Wittmann is adept at setting trends, creating milestones in the history of furniture.
Unmatched craftsmanship, as well as meticulous selection and working of fine materials, provide the basis for executing new ideas and forms. To bring them to life, Wittmann regularly partners with the greatest names of their time. And it is not uncommon for long-term cooperations to be the outcome: collaborators including Johannes Spalt, Jean Nouvel, Matteo Thun and Paolo Piva set the direction that Jaime Hayon, Sebastian Herkner and Luca Nichetto have now seamlessly picked up on, taking it into a new era.
