The modular bookcase Demetra, with its contemporary aesthetics and apparent formal simplicity, stands out for the combination of various elements of different dimensions – 32 or 60 cm.
The single elements, entirely made of Canaletta walnut, are joined together through brushed brass joints and are supported by a base in Bronzoro finish acting as a counterweight. The Demetra open bookcase is designed to furnish with strong personality every modern living space and is a perfect example of the harmonious combination of aesthetics and functionality sought in every creation by Porada. Moreover, it is characterized by an extreme versatility, as it can be used as a room divider and can be combined with many seats of Porada collection.
Born in Vicenza, he started working in the industrial design sector in 1990, also collaborating as an art director with prestigious Italian and foreign companies in the furniture field. Some of his products have been exhibited at the MoMA in New York. In 2012 he received the Interior Innovation Award in Cologne for the product “Bookless” by Interlübke. In 1999 he opened STUDIO28 GINO CAROLLO with the aim of creating a qualified team to support companies in the design industry. The high technical and engineering skills of STUDIO28 allowed rapid growth in recent years. Noteworthy is the development in the field of architectural design of exhibition spaces, showrooms and corporate identity and the flourishing long-term collaboration with Porada.
Porada
Everything ‘s born from the love of wood. The solid wood, worked with the craftsmanship of those who know how to turn a log into a piece of artwork. Porada has its origin in this passion. It was established in 1968 by Luigi Allievi with the aim of expanding the production of chairs, started in 1948.
The Porada collection is wide and varied, made up of a multitude of occasional furniture developed in cooperation with designers as Marconato and Zappa, Carlo Ballabio, David Dolcini, Emmanuel Gallina, Patrick Jouin, Tarcisio Colzani, Staffan Tollgard, Studio Opera, Gino Carollo, Dainelli Sudio and Studio Buratti among the others.
